Arsenal’s confirmed transfer deals so far and what more can we expect?

It would appear that Edu and Mikel Arteta are trying to get as many deals done as possible before Arsenal’s first game of the season against Crystal Palace, and it is looking good so far.

The Gunners have already officially confirmed the signing of Marquinhos from Sao Paolo, which appears to be a steal due to his contract problems in Brazil.

Then we had the surprising out-of-the-blue acquisition of Fabio Vieira from Porto, who stats from last season were amazing, and if he can settle quickly in England we could have a real star on our hands.

In another bargain deal, Arteta persuaded Eddie Nketiah to re-sign for us on a long term contract. Considering his form at the end of lastseason and how much it would have cost to replace him, it looks like another excellent bit of business.

Another signing yet to be confirmed by the club is the USA international keeper Matt Turner, but him and his wife are now in London house-hunting. He also looks like a bargain and I like his attitude. He told SkySports: “I’d agree with it for now (being second choice to Ramsdale). I’m coming in to push him and become the best goalkeeper I can become, while also making him the best goalkeeper he can become. That’s really my goal for it all.

But… the vibes :(

We love you Gareth, but what on earth was that nonsense? Kate, Jim and Luke pick through the wreckage of England’s worst defeat on home soil in nearly a century. Qatar, here we come!

New Zealand were also let down by football’s cruel whimsy, as their World Cup spot slipped through their fingers. Better luck for Scotland though, and Ireland's Nathan Collins turned into prime Ronald Koeman - bosh!

Marcus, Andy and Pete react to a reminder of England's dark past after their turgid, uninspiring 0-0 draw with Italy in front of a few children.

Meanwhile, Ireland had a glorious saunter through the Dublin sunshine against an abject Scotland while Wales impressively held Belgium. And - brace yourselves - there's been more questionable scorelines! Ah, the off-season.

We saw you crying on the telly

England extended their unbeaten run against Germany to three games last night and took the mick out of that crying child from the Euros last summer. A victorious day all round.

Marcus, Jim and Andy run the rule over a huge clash in Munich as Gareth Southgate tinkered with a new system that didn’t quite suit anyone. Elsewhere, Australia clinch a huge win over UAE, Cardiff City are sniffing around bar-owner Gareth Bale and Barcelona are going to pay Robert Lewandowski with… weddings?

Italian giants ready to return to sign Arsenal leader this summer

Roma are claimed to be keen on signing Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka after missing out on his signature 12 months ago.

The Giallorossi were strongly linked with the Swiss international’s signature last summer, only for Xhaka to end up signing a new deal in north London instead, with the two clubs seemingly unable to agree to a transfer fee.

Fast forward 12 months and we look to be ready to strengthen in that area of the team once more, this time with Belgian Youri Tielemans strongly linked with a move, and that could well mean that we could be ready to loosen our stance on Xhaka’s stay at the Emirates.

Granit is always spoken highly of in the dressing room, and was previously elected as the club’s captain before a fallout with the fans, but remains amongst the leaders of the group, and his presence in the dressing room will be missed.

Roma recently signed Nemanja Matic on a free transfer from Manchester United, but are claimed to still be in want of Xhaka’s signing, with Mourinho remaining keen on working with him.

I am glad if Arteta really is frustrated with Arsenal’s transfer dithering

So, there are suggestions in the media that Mikel Arteta is getting frustrated with our transfer policy.

Good! It’s about time!

When our former captain was given the manager’s job, I suggested like Emery before him, that he was a Yes Man.

How did I know that before I was asked?

Why else would the Kroenke Family hire a man with zero managerial experience?

Could Romelu Lukaku be the perfect striker for Arsenal? (Opinion)

Paul Merson has told Arsenal to tempt Chelsea into selling Romelu Lukaku with a £60 Million offer, but is he the right player to take us to the next level?

The Gunners have already seen both Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to leave without bringing in a replacement, and we are believed to be actively looking to rectify that before the new season comes around.

Gabriel Jesus is widely touted as our preferred option to lead the line next term, although we are not believed to be alone in considering his signature, but Paul Merson believes he has a better idea.

“Arsenal should make a cheeky £60m bid for Romelu Lukaku this summer,” he wrote in his column for the DailyStar. “Because if Chelsea are so desperate to let him go that they’re talking about loaning him to Inter Milan, surely they would take the money! Arsenal haven’t had someone who is big and strong and dynamic like that since Kevin Campbell.

“I know he hasn’t scored a lot of goals this season but Lukaku is an elite goalscorer. Arsenal play great football up to the edge of the box but then it often fizzles out. Arsenal go through the lines. They want their striker on the edge of the box. It would suit him.

Image: Arsenal star named to start in much-changed England XI

Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale is making his third appearance for England tonight after being named to start against Italy tonight.

Gareth Southgate has named a much-changed starting line-up to take on the European champions, and while Bukayo Saka has been relegated to the bench, Ramsdale is making sure that we have a representative in the teamsheet.

A lot of the talk today will be around the Euro 2020 final, with us on the losing end in the penalty shootout, but their form has taken a turn for the worst since, and I’m backing our side to enjoy themselves today despite a number of changes.

Arsenal set to miss out as Spurs agree deal for defensive target

Tottenham look to have stolen a march on Arsenal by agreeing a deal to sign Djed Spence from Middlesbrough this summer.

The defender was thoroughly impressive at right-back for on-loan side Nottingham Forest this season, helping them to knock the likes of Spurs and Arsenal out of cup competitions before then helping Forest to earn promotion to the Premier League.

While it had been reported that the side wanted to keep him beyond his loan spell, he now looks set to join Tottenham instead, with the north London club having struggled to find a consistent option for the role this term.

All of Emerson Royal, Japhet Tanganga and Matt Doherty were all used sparingly throughout the campaign, and they now look set to bring in a new man to stake a claim for the regular berth in the side.

The Guardian claims the deal is worth around £20 Million, a reasonably low fee for a one of the brightest young full-backs in England.

Premier League side in talks to sign international Arsenal star

Fulham are claimed to be in talks to sign Bernd Leno from Arsenal this summer, after losing his first-team spot to Aaron Ramsdale.

The German international will surely be open to a move, with former Sheffield United star having taken a firm grip on a role in the starting line-up with a number of top performances this term.

Matt Turner has also signed from the MLS, with the USA first-team goalkeeper hoping to challenge for minutes in the new campaign, which further adds to the belief that Leno will be headed for the exit door this summer, and while a return to his home country has been mooted, David Ornstein claims that he wants to stay in London.

This could well open the door for a move to Fulham, who recently earned promotion to the top division by winning the Championship.

Former England international urges Arsenal to beat PSG to midfielder

Darren Bent has called on Arsenal to make a move to sign Christophe Nkunku from RB Leipzig this summer.

The Gunners are believed to be working hard to identify players who will add to the quality of our first-team at present, and a striker and a central midfielder are believed to be High on our wishlist.

Darren Bent has been discussing his favourite club’s potential signings live on TalkSPORT, and whilst he was happy that we are pursuing Gabriel Jesus, he also wants us to divert some attention onto a deal for Nkunku.

‘I’d like to see him go to Arsenal. I think he’d be brilliant,’ Bent said.

‘He’s not got a point to prove but I think he needs regular football and I think he’s more than good enough to score the goals to help Arsenal get back to where they’d like to get to.

Insider is convinced that Nketiah will stay at Arsenal “Progressing very well”

Despite the numerous reports that Eddie Nketiah has been offered a new mouth-watering contract to remain at Arsenal, it has still not been confirmed that he will still be at the club next season.

After his excellent end to the season, there is no doubt that there will be many clubs clamouring for his signature, especially as he would come without a transfer fee, but it is hoped that Mikel Arteta will be assuring the 23 year-old that he will have a lot more game time if he stays at the club he has been since a schoolboy.

I am sure that Eddie will be aware that Arteta is in the market for at least one other top striker, and could be worried that he will left on the bench as a backup yet again, which is why he wanted to leave in the first place.

But today, the Arsenal expert Charles Watts has assured Arsenal fans, that after talking to a club insider, Nketiah is still very likely to sign the new deal. “My understanding of the situation when it comes to Eddie Nketiah,” said Watts on his YouTube channel. “It’s progressing pretty well.

“Just as reported last week or whenever it was, it looked like he was going to sign a new contract.

Italian media link Arsenal with 20m-rated Argentinean hotshot striker (plus video)

We have the Italian media linking Arsenal with interest in a relatively unknown frontman as it is being reported that we have “entered the race” for the Argentinean striker Giovanni Simeone, who happens to be the son of the legendary Diego Simeone.

The 26 year old was born in Madrid when his father was playing in the Spanish capital, but after the family returned to Argentina he began his career at River Plate, then moving on to various Italian clubs, Genoa, Fiorentina and finally Cagliari. He never really hit the heights, although he scored 54 goals in 189 games in Serie A, before being sent on a loan to buy to Verona (still in Serie A) last season, where he scored 17 goals in 35 games.

Verona are set to actuate his buy out clause of 10m Euros and are keen to sell him immediately to the highest bidder and expect to double their money on the sale.

TuttoMercatoWeb are reporting that Arenal have now shown an interest, as they stated: Arsenal swoops on Simeone: 20 million operation, there is also Juve. But first the ransom

Arsenal falls on Giovanni Simeone. As collected by TMW, in the last few hours the Gunners have entered the race for El Cholito.
