Gary Neville has once again offered advice to Gareth Southgate on how to utilise Declan Rice, who is struggling to perform well for England at Euro 2024.

Rice is regarded as one of the best midfielders in Europe, but England is having difficulty getting the best out of him in the tournament. Considering his impressive form for Arsenal in the recently concluded season, he was expected to be a key player for the Three Lions in their quest for success.

However, after two matches, England’s prospects look in question and there are concerns that they might not even survive their first knockout game. This raises fears of another lost generation in English football, and Rice, in particular, cannot be proud of his performances so far.

Neville believes the midfielder has struggled because of the way he is being used by Southgate and said, as quoted by The Irish Independent:

“Mikel Arteta (Arsenal manager) moved Declan Rice out of that position (No.6) for the last 15 games of the season to bring in Jorginho and Thomas Partey, because he’s not that good at playing there.

Arsenal has the opportunity to sign Jonathan David for a reduced fee this summer as Lille prepares to cash in on the striker.

David has been one of the top performers in Europe over the last few seasons, consistently contending for the leading scorer title in France. The brilliance of Kylian Mbappe has prevented him from winning the top scorer award, but the Canadian remains one of the finest attackers in Ligue 1.

Every summer, David is linked with a move to a top club like Arsenal, but he has stayed at Lille. However, with his contract expiring in 2025, Lille is now eager to sell him while they can and have set a reasonable asking price for his signature.

According to Talk Sport, Lille is prepared to sell him for around £30 million, significantly less than his valuation last summer.

Jermaine Jenas was impressed with William Saliba’s performance in France’s goalless draw against the Netherlands and is puzzled by the criticisms the Arsenal defender receives.

Regardless of these opinions, Saliba remains a highly-rated player, and Jermaine Jenas is baffled by the criticism directed at him.

Leandro Trossard is among the Arsenal stars facing criticism for their performances at Euro 2024.

The Belgian ended last season in fine form for Arsenal as the Gunners nearly won the Premier League.

However, Belgium started their Euro 2024 campaign with a shock 1-0 loss to Slovakia, leading to widespread criticism of their players.

Belgium’s squad includes top club-level talents like Jeremy Doku and Kevin de Bruyne, making the result of their first game particularly surprising.

All their stars have faced criticism at home for failing to meet expectations, with Trossard also under fire.

Arsenal star Declan Rice has openly criticised his performance against Denmark as England continues to underperform at Euro 2024.

Despite being pre-tournament favourites, Gareth Southgate’s team is struggling, and their chances of reaching the semi-finals appear uncertain.

Rice has been starting in a midfield trio alongside Trent Alexander-Arnold and Jude Bellingham, but their effectiveness has been questioned after lacklustre performances.

Acknowledging his own shortcomings, Rice, regarded as one of Europe’s top midfielders, admitted he did not perform at his best for his country following England’s 1-1 draw against Denmark.

AC Milan remains determined to sign Jakub Kiwior this summer, despite the defender now being a key player for Arsenal.

Kiwior initially struggled at the start of his time at the Emirates, but since the beginning of 2024, he has begun to impress whenever he plays, and Arsenal now considers him an integral part of their squad.

Mikel Arteta’s side is pleased with his contributions and expects him to continue improving. Kiwior himself is enjoying his time at the Emirates and wishes to remain with the Gunners.

However, AC Milan continues their pursuit of him and views him as a valuable addition to their defence. According to a report on Milan News, they appreciate his Serie A experience and success in another league.

Milan also values his versatility, which has proven crucial for Arsenal. They see Kiwior as a player who can strengthen their squad significantly.

After the last England game, he again called out Rice for making safe passes. He said, as quoted by the Daily Mail:

‘I made a comment about Declan Rice that people have got their knickers in a twist about but for a £100million player I want to see more than just five-yard sideways and backwards passes.

Dwight Yorke has recommended that Arsenal sign a striker this summer after Benjamin Sesko snubbed them.

The Gunners are in the market for a new striker, and several names are on their shopping list.

Eventually, they will have to settle for one, and Yorke believes the player they should focus on signing for a huge fee is Alexander Isak.

The Swede has been in fantastic form for Newcastle since he moved to the Premier League, and the Magpies have made him unavailable for transfer.

Isak is one of the best strikers in the Premier League and keeps improving, but Newcastle does not want to sell him and has set a huge valuation for his signature.

Arsenal and Manchester United are both in the running for Joshua Zirkzee, with both clubs considering bringing him to the Premier League.

The Dutchman was in fine form for Bologna last season, earning him a place in the Netherlands squad for Euro 2024.

Bologna also qualified for the Champions League thanks to his goals and overall performance, which has now attracted interest from several clubs.

Arsenal wants him in their squad, but Manchester United is keener and worried about the Gunners’ interest.

A report on Football Insider claims United fears they will miss out on signing him if Arsenal gets serious because the Gunners have Champions League football, while they do not.

Arsenal is stepping up its interest in Viktor Gyokeres, according to a report from Portugal.

The Gunners are looking to bolster their attack after missing out on their number one target, Benjamin Sesko, who has decided not to change clubs this summer.

Mikel Arteta’s side is now keen on signing another striker, and Gyokeres has emerged as their latest preferred target.

They have followed the Swede for a long time, and he impressed them by scoring 29 goals and providing ten assists in 33 league games last term.

It was his first season at Sporting Club, yet he delivered impressive numbers, which the Gunners believe he can replicate in their team.
